To ask the Scottish Executive what progress the Improving Regulation in Scotland Unit has made in reducing bureaucratic burdens on business.

The answer

The Improving Regulation in Scotland Unit ensures that all departments take full account of business interests where regulation is necessary.<P>Regulatory Impact Assessment Reviews ensure that regulations are fit for purpose.
