That the Parliament recognises the outstanding mission of 17-year-old Isla Burston from Kinghorn, who aims to be the youngest Scottish person on record to ski to the South Pole through Antarctica; understands that Isla has dealt with severe anxiety throughout her life and has overcome this with the help of the Polar Academy, which has helped over 300 young people overcome challenges and achieve outstanding goals; acknowledges that Isla has been carrying out intense training and conducting her own fundraising drive, so far raising over £1,000 in private donations and crowdfunding; commends Polar Academy for supporting Isla on this journey, and wishes her every success in raising the necessary £78,000 to reach the South Pole, making history for both Scotland and the UK.
