That the Parliament acknowledges the retirement of Ephraim Borowski MBE, following his decades of service to the Jewish community in Scotland; commends Ephraim for his leadership of and contributions to the Jewish community in Glasgow and the West of Scotland, and Jewish communities across Scotland; believes that as a result of his tireless work as voluntary director of the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC) since 1999, the Jewish communities of Scotland have collectively become an established and important feature of Scotland's civic society landscape; appreciates what it sees as Ephraim’s significant contributions to fostering positive interfaith dialogue, work to progress racial and religious equality and to civic Scotland; notes his regular participation on BBC Radio Scotland’s “Thought for the Day” covering topics including community and connection, refugees and migration; understands that Ephraim was the first lay member of the Scottish Jewish community to deliver Time for Reflection in the Scottish Parliament; notes his comments on that occasion about the diversity of our country resulting in the rich mix of threads in the tartan of Scottish Society, and sends Ephraim all good wishes for his retirement.
No division on record. Either the chamber agreed this motion without a vote, it was withdrawn before debate, or it predates 2011 — vote-by-vote records only run from then.
