That the Parliament congratulates McCaskie’s Butcher Shop in Wemyss Bay on being crowned the People’s Choice Champion at the prestigious Haggis Festival at Oban Distillery; notes that this marks the fifth time that McCaskie’s has received this award, which is judged by members of the public, demonstrating how highly regarded McCaskie’s haggis is; recognises McCaskie’s additional accolades, including its status as Scotland’s most awarded Black Pudding producer and its four-time title as National Champion, as well as its recognition as World Champion Scotch Pie maker; further acknowledges McCaskie’s recent gold status wins at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards for products such as beef sliced sausage, Thai pork baskets, sweet BBQ king ribs, and lemon pepper escalope; commends Nigel Ovens and the team for what it sees as their outstanding contributions to Scotland’s food industry and their continued success in showcasing Inverclyde’s culinary excellence, and wishes McCaskie’s every success in future competitions and endeavours.
