That the Parliament congratulates the Paisley Daily Express on its 150th anniversary, having first been published in 1874; recognises what it sees as the vital role that it has played in keeping the communities of Renfrewshire informed on local and national issues for a century and a half; notes that it continues to be published daily, except on Sundays, providing important coverage on topics ranging from local events and sport to broader social, cultural and political matters; acknowledges the dedication of its staff throughout the years in delivering timely and reliable news; highlights the newspaper’s continued commitment to serving the people of Renfrewshire with journalistic integrity; notes what it considers to be the important role that local newspapers play in fostering a sense of community, holding authorities to account, and amplifying the voices of local people, and wishes the Paisley Daily Express many congratulations on marking this important milestone.
