That the Parliament recognises the achievements of Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust (AFCCT) over the course of the past year, when it has helped 9,727 people across 4,880 sessions, including 4,523 meals; notes that AFCCT, which was established as the official partner charity of Aberdeen FC in July 2014, works to support people through its two themes of education and positive destinations, and football, health and wellbeing, using the power of football to help reduce the poverty-related attainment gap in schools, tackle social isolation and improve mental wellbeing; understands that 2024 saw the launch of the new Community Cup project, in which pupils from four primary schools embraced the power of positive competition across four categories of Community Actions, Social Actions, Workshops and Fair Play Fixtures; further understands that the new Dons Families Together project was also launched, promoting quality family time without financial strain across a range of activities at various sporting venues, such as swimming, skating and snow sports, as well as delivering further education, budgeting, employment and positive parenting sessions for the adults, and ensuring an inclusive environment for neurodiverse families; recognises that 34 volunteers have devoted a total of 4,043 hours of volunteering to support AFCCT’s work, raising £19,500 in fundraising in the process; congratulates chief executive, Liz Bowie, and the rest of the team at AFCCT on their hard work and dedication throughout the past year, and wishes AFCCT all the best in its endeavours in 2025.
