That the Parliament congratulates the MAXwell Centre in Dundee on achieving the Level 5 Outstanding Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful’s It’s Your Neighbourhood Award 2023 and Certificate of Distinction, following a visit by judges earlier in 2023; notes that the MAXwell Centre has been operating as a vibrant community centre since 2007; further notes that it has a community garden, which was established on the site of a former builders’ yard 10 years ago, with a mission to improve the quality of life for the local community through support and empowerment, enabling people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, share and connect with nature; understands that the centre is well-used by groups and individuals young and old, and that the space provides children who visit the centre for regular workshops with educational opportunities relating to food production, healthy living, the environment, and ecology; further understands that the MAXwell Centre works with the community to ensure that it is involved in influencing the services provided to meet ever-changing needs; notes the comments of the Keep Scotland Beautiful judges, who described the centre as "the beating heart of the community", which, it believes, is helping to restore inequalities and social justice, and thanks the team of volunteers and staff at the centre who put so much love and commitment into the garden for the good of the community.

Possible final motion text as originally lodged

No carried amendments applied

This is a computer’s best guess at applying carried amendments to the original motion text. It uses simple text rules for phrases such as “insert at end”, “after X insert Y”, and “leave out from X to end and insert Y”. Treat it as an aid, not the official motion text.
