UnknownThat the Parliament congratulates Miya Turner, S5 pupil at Portobello High School, on being selected as one of the five debaters for the Scottish National Schools Debating Team representing Scotland, at the prestigious World School Debating Championships taking place in Vietnam in July 2023; understands that this is the first time that a pupil from Portobello High School has been selected; acknowledges that, at the World Championships, teams from around the world debate on a variety of topics, both prepared and unprepared, and are tested on their general knowledge, critical thinking ability, public speaking skills and ability to work as a team; understands that the last time Scotland was crowned World Champions at this competition was in Cape Town in 2012; commends Miya on her selection, and wishes both Miya and the team every success at the Championships.
