That the Parliament welcomes the UK Space Agency’s £2.7 million investment in 13 early-start projects across the UK that it understands will support the growing satellite launch sector, equating to a further investment of almost £1.5 million in Scottish-based satellite launch projects; acknowledges the UK Government’s commitment to the sector across the UK providing funding, which, it understands, will facilitate essential research and development and attract more investment in the supply chain, and support the exciting programme of launches expected in 2023 and beyond; notes that the four organisations in Scotland that are being funded by this investment include Shetland Space Centres, HyImpulse, AltaRange Ltd and Discover Space, and commends the contribution and cooperation of the academic sector, including the University of Glasgow, on these exciting projects.
