That the Parliament understands that campaigners from the Community, Unite and GMB unions have delivered a petition to the UK Prime Minister urging action to support Britain’s steel industry; considers that the petition, reported to have been signed by more than 11,500 people, calls on the UK Government to change procurement rules to encourage the use of British steel; believes that, in what it considers a turbulent world, large scale capital projects reliant on steel, including the infrastructure needed to meet net zero targets, can be more reliably delivered by steel manufactured in the UK; thanks the steelworkers and their trades unions for their efforts to secure a future for the industry, and urges the Scottish and UK governments to meet the campaign demands.

Possible final motion text as originally lodged

No carried amendments applied

This is a computer’s best guess at applying carried amendments to the original motion text. It uses simple text rules for phrases such as “insert at end”, “after X insert Y”, and “leave out from X to end and insert Y”. Treat it as an aid, not the official motion text.
