That the Parliament congratulates Declan Beckett, who trains at Greenock Boxing Club, on winning gold at the Boxing Scotland National Development Championships in his first ever competition; understands that the youngster hopes his big win in the 43kg novice category can be the first step towards a professional boxing career; believes that Declan’s coach, Mick Pattinson, has predicted that the youngster will go far in the boxing world given how determined and committed he is to training, having only taken up the sport two years ago; considers that Greenock Boxing Club is well known for producing competition-winning talent, and wishes Declan all the best as he hopes to compete in the Western District competition early in 2023.
