That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Scotch Whisky Action Fund has awarded £6,625 to Barnardo’s for the continuation of its CHOICES programme; understands that the Scotch Whisky Action Fund supports projects taking an innovative approach to addressing the issues around alcohol misuse within a community or section of society; further understands that the grant will be used to address the gap between demand and delivery of the programme, extending the programme to approximately a further 520 pupils in primary six and seven across East Ayrshire; understands that the programme educates participating children on the impact of alcohol on behaviour, the risk of alcohol misuse, healthy lifestyles and peer pressure to misuse alcohol, and also provides training to teachers within the programme to build their skills, confidence, and resilience to enable them to identify children at risk of or affected by alcohol misuse and provide the support that they need; recognises education as a powerful tool in addressing health inequalities; commends the Scotch Whisky Association on its commitment to promote responsible consumption and tackle harmful drinking through funding of programs like Bernardo’s CHOICES, and wishes the participants all the best in the future.
No division on record. Either the chamber agreed this motion without a vote, it was withdrawn before debate, or it predates 2011 — vote-by-vote records only run from then.

Possible final motion text as originally lodged

No carried amendments applied

This is a computer’s best guess at applying carried amendments to the original motion text. It uses simple text rules for phrases such as “insert at end”, “after X insert Y”, and “leave out from X to end and insert Y”. Treat it as an aid, not the official motion text.
