Congratulating Sainsbury’s Bottle Deposit Return Scheme

That the Parliament congratulates Sainsbury’s stores in Aberdeen for their bottle deposit return scheme; understands that this scheme allows customers to deposit empty drinks bottles and cans in machines and that, for every bottle deposited, customers receive a 5p voucher that can be redeemed in the shop; applauds this great initiative by Sainsbury’s, with six stores running the trial in differing formats; considers that schemes such as this contribute to reaching net zero ambitions, and that it is fantastic to see Sainsbury's, it believes, leading the way by providing this recycling programme, and hopes that this fantastic work can continue in the future.
