S5M-15205 · Standard Motion · lodged by Kerr, Liam

That the Parliament commends the efforts of James Adams, Kristopher McKenzie, Jordan Tijou, Jordan Bain, Jonathan Bellany, Craig Bruce, Gavin Duthie, Raymond Clark and Liam Farquhar for fundraising for Friends of Anchor, which they did following their close friend, Alexander Watt, being diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer; understands that, thankfully, Alexander’s cancer is highly treatable and he is currently undergoing a second round of BEP chemotherapy; recognises that, in an effort to raise money for charity, and awareness of testicular cancer, 10 of Alexander’s close friends have courageously signed up to shave their heads, and that the group has raised over £24,000; acknowledges that Friends of Anchor is a charity that helps cancer and haematology patients from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Orkney and Shetland, and that all donations go towards purchasing advanced surgical and diagnostic medical equipment, funding groundbreaking research to improve diagnosis and treatment for cancer, and patient wellbeing for those receiving treatment in the Anchor unit; believes that the group’s efforts are the epitome of bravery and selflessness, and wishes Alexander the very best for his recovery.
No division on record. Either the chamber agreed this motion without a vote, it was withdrawn before debate, or it predates 2011 — vote-by-vote records only run from then.
