Assistant Chief Officer Lewis Ramsay Awarded The Queen’s Fire Service Medal

S5M-15200 · Standard Motion · lodged by Adamson, Clare

Lodged on
19 Dec 2018
Heard / answered on
Unknown
That the Parliament congratulates Assistant Chief Officer (ACO) Lewis Ramsay on receiving the Outstanding Contribution to Fire and Rescue Service award at the Excellence in Fire Emergency Awards held in London recently; recognises that ACO Ramsay joined the fire service in 1989 as a firefighter and went on to become an officer, carrying out operational roles that were associated with health and safety, training, operations and personnel; further recognises that, with his promotion to ACO in 2008, he has become a champion of community work safety, where he has dedicated much of his professional and personal time to initiatives aimed at fire prevention and saving lives; notes that he has been instrumental in implementing the recommendations in the Scottish Government’s Scotland Together Report, which has led to the forming of a partnership unit to encourage agencies to work together to improve safety; understands that this has led to the fire service experiencing the lowest number of fire deaths and casualties recorded in its history, and wishes ACO Ramsay well in all future endeavours.
No division on record. Either the chamber agreed this motion without a vote, it was withdrawn before debate, or it predates 2011 — vote-by-vote records only run from then.

Possible final motion text as originally lodged

No carried amendments applied

This is a computer’s best guess at applying carried amendments to the original motion text. It uses simple text rules for phrases such as “insert at end”, “after X insert Y”, and “leave out from X to end and insert Y”. Treat it as an aid, not the official motion text.
