That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian Council's Women n2 Work project on its nomination in the Championing Gender Equality category at Holyrood magazine’s fifth annual Scottish Public Service Awards; notes that this award recognises individuals, teams, groups and networks that initiate and lead on action to remove barriers, improve the working experience and engagement levels of employees and demonstrate excellence in the delivery of services; commends the West Lothian project, which helps women from disadvantaged groups, including those who are long-term unemployed, lone parents or who have health problems, by providing them with the opportunity of achieving a SVQ level 4 employability award; notes that the course offers intensive support to address some of the barriers that women have to employment and self-development and aims to give them the skills and confidence needed to change their lives; acknowledges the project's outstanding contribution to women in the community; applauds it on being shortlisted for the award; believes that the ceremony was uplifting, inspiring and good fun, and wishes all at Women n2 Work continued success.
