That the Parliament congratulates the Archaeology Institute at the University of the Highlands and Islands on what it considers its recent exciting discovery of 14 Bronze Age houses on Sanday in Orkney; notes the significance of the find as potentially one of the largest settlements in the area from that period; believes that the size and scale of this settlement exceed any found before in Orkney; applauds what it sees as the characteristic resilience of staff who are continuing to work at the site despite difficult weather conditions; understands that there is a risk of damage and destruction of the site from coastal erosion, and calls for measures to be put in place to protect this important discovery from further environmental damage.
