That the Parliament commends the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Buglife on the reports that they have joined forces to call for a ban of neonicotinoid pesticides, which harm bees and other pollinators; understands that the groups have written to the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment to call for a permanent ban on the use of three neonicotinoids on outdoor crops and that RSPB Scotland and Butterfly Conservation Scotland have backed this; notes that, in December 2013, the EU introduced a ban that was to be reviewed after two years, and hopes that the Scottish Government will act positively and make the temporary ban into a permanent one.
