That the Parliament wishes the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh every success for its annual Lights to Remember event on 10 December 2015 at Liberton Kirk, which brings people together to remember special people whom they have lost; believes that the event will be a tribute to lost loved ones, a thank you to Marie Curie staff for the wonderful care that they provide for people at the end of their lives and an important way of raising valuable funds to support the charity's vital work; considers that, in Scotland, Marie Curie provides specialist care and emotional support to more than 7,400 people living with a terminal illness, as well as their families, at the end of their lives and following bereavement; understands that, in 2014-15, the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh saw 480 admissions and the Marie Curie Nursing Service carried out over 16,500 hours of community nursing support in the Lothian region, and over 4,000 community nursing visits as well as providing specialist community and day services; further understands that Marie Curie’s nursing service also supported people in 31 out of 32 local authorities in Scotland and carried out 2,200 visits to people in Edinburgh alone, and supports the charity’s work to make sure that everyone has the right to palliative care when they need it.
No division on record. Either the chamber agreed this motion without a vote, it was withdrawn before debate, or it predates 2011 — vote-by-vote records only run from then.

Possible final motion text as originally lodged

No carried amendments applied

This is a computer’s best guess at applying carried amendments to the original motion text. It uses simple text rules for phrases such as “insert at end”, “after X insert Y”, and “leave out from X to end and insert Y”. Treat it as an aid, not the official motion text.
