Fire (Scotland) Bill: Stage 1
Macmillan, Maureen Lab Highlands and Islands Watch on SPTV
Sections 7 to 10 outline and define the main fire and rescue functions. Those are promoting fire safety, which is to do with providing information on preventing fires and death or injury by fire and providing advice on how to prevent fires and to restrict their spread in buildings and other property; firefighting, which is to do with extinguishing fires and protecting life and property; and acting in road traffic accidents and other emergencies. Do you think that any other duties or functions ought to be added to that?

Thank you. Does anybody wish to add to that? Perhaps I could share my thoughts and see whether you want to comment.

Perhaps we should ask the Executive to define the words "property" and "life".
