National Bus Travel Concession Schemes (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Order 2026 [Draft]
I will support the order today, because I recognise the broad aims that the minister has set out. I would have liked to hear more clarity about how the order will work operationally and what criteria will be considered for reviews or appeals. We got there towards the end, but I am disappointed by the missed opportunity to take further action. It sounds as if the issue should have been discussed more closely with the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, who the minister is to meet.We have heard about what could happen in the next parliamentary session, but the issues have been discussed in the Parliament over the past couple of years, with strong interest from different parties and from lots of stakeholders. I feel that lots of victims and families will feel disappointed today.
