Tertiary Education and Training (Funding and Governance) (Scotland) Bill: Stage 3
The minister will know that Universities Scotland has expressed concern about the national funding strategy. It feels that the strategy risks encroaching on the Office for National Statistics classification and the independent status of universities. That has been a sensitive issue, particularly with regard to the University of Dundee and the use of powers under section 25 of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005. What will the minister say to assure Universities Scotland that that is not what he and the Government intend?
