I do not know the particular circumstances in Wishaw and Glasgow and what would be required to be opened to ensure sufficient capacity or, indeed, what the right capacity would need to be. Sometimes capacity just means having more nurses, or the right number of nurses, to look after a particular number of babies or to maintain a certain level of activity in a particular neonatal unit.
I am not aware of the exact circumstances in Glasgow that limit capacity at the moment. It could be that more nurses are required, or it might be that some capital investment needs to be made in order to have a larger space—I am not sure—but, ideally, all those things should be provided to ensure that capacity can be transferred.
