Airdrie-Bathgate Railway and Linked Improvements Bill: Consideration Stage
In paragraph 391 of our consideration stage report, we confirmed the decision that we took at the preliminary stage that the Crichel Down rules should apply to the promoter as they have been applied to other promoters with earlier private bills. The rules set out the circumstances in which surplus land that is acquired compulsorily should, as a matter of good practice, be offered back to former owners. The effect of making the rules binding is that any part of any land that is compulsorily acquired under the bill which is not ultimately required for the scheme must be offered for sale back to the original owner.I move amendment 29.
