Motion, as amended, agreed to,
That the Parliament resolves to keep childcare at the top of the political agenda; acknowledges the significant progress made by the Scottish Government in expanding funded early learning and childcare to 600 hours for three and four-year-olds and the most vulnerable 27% of two-year-olds; recognises the radical proposals for transforming childcare set out in Scotland’s Future: Your Guide to an Independent Scotland, which would ensure that children from age one to five would be entitled to 1,140 hours of early learning and childcare, broadly the same number of hours that children currently receive in primary school; welcomes the valuable cross-party contribution made by Willie Rennie and Malcolm Chisholm as members of the Early Years Taskforce, which brings together practitioners, professionals and politicians to inform the strategic development of early years policy, including early learning and childcare, and further welcomes the establishment by Children in Scotland of the Partnership Commission for Childcare Reform as part of its Childcare Alliance, which will help to inform this important agenda.
