Meeting of the Parliament 20 June 2018
I am grateful to the Labour Party for securing the debate, for the significant reason that it allows us to retell the story of Alex Salmond’s tartan trousers. For more than seven months, he managed to avoid telling the public exactly how he had managed to get the taxpayer to pay for a £259.40 pair of tartan trews on his visit to China. The significant point is that it took a journalist seven months and repeated freedom of information requests to get the information out of the Government. Who really cares about Alex Salmond’s tartan trousers?
Members: We do!
