Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Bill: Stage 2
In response to David Stewart, we have made a clear commitment that, if the bill passes, we will review how it works for the student sector, both in purpose-built student accommodation and in the wider private rented sector. Currently, there are students in the purpose-built sector who are in short assured tenancies, and some have occupancy rights through the university standards. Universities have to meet those standards. We anticipate that that situation will continue, but we will certainly take on board what David Stewart has said. Amendment 1 agreed to.
